If browsing with Edge or Internet Explorer you can cut many steps by using the free photo composition template here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos/photo-composition-template.html For the rest of us, this will show you how to take your own passport photo at home and serve as a great how to use Pixlr tutorial and how to use canva tutorial for beginners to boot! 1. Take the photo against a white or off-white background. 2. Go to (FREE) https://pixlr.com/x/ open your photo and proceed to white out the background. Save. 3. Go to US Department of State and save or screen shot their photo for correct passport photo proportions. 4. Go to (FREE) https://www.canva.com/join/cabin-porch-platinum and create custom image 2"x2". 5. Insert the template and overlay your photo, making it more transparent so you can see the template below. 6. Get it to fit, bring your photo back to 0% transparency and BOOM, you have your photo! 7. In Canva, start a new document so you can print it to whatever size photo paper you have at home or if sending to a drug store you can just do 3x5 or 4x6 and you'll fit 2 of your photos on 1 page.
